This kit was designed after searching for a sensor that could be easily added to an existing installation of either a 3/4" or 1" diameter steering column shafts most generally seen in many tube frame cars that don't use the Sweet collapsible steering columns. The biggest challenge was to be able to mount something to the shaft without having to remove the entire shaft from the vehicle. Other limitations are the steering wheel hub adapter that prevents sliding anything of the proper shaft size over the welded on adapter. Simply clamp the two halves together on the shaft where you would like and then mount the sensor bracket to your liking. The belt is long enough to slip over the hub and the typical supporting rod end making replacement of the belt easy as well.
The belt is a polyurethane/kevlar construction so it is also very durable.
The sensor gear ratio is 3:1 and is a 10 turn sensor so with this combination, very high movement resolutions are obtained to increase any accuracy needed for subsequent math channels that use the steering sensor for handling calculations.
